FAQ

What people ask us

How much does residential pest control cost?
Prices vary by job. As a typical U.S. range, a one-time treatment for common pests like ants or roaches often runs from about $100 to $300. Ongoing plans are usually billed monthly or quarterly. Termite and wildlife work costs more. Size of the home, pest type and how bad it is all matter. Always get a written quote first, and compare two if you can.
What should I look for when choosing an exterminator near me?
Use this short checklist. First, confirm the provider is licensed in California and ask to see proof. Next, ask if they carry liability insurance. Then ask what products and methods they plan to use, and where. Last, get the scope, price and any follow-up visits in writing. Providers in our network are independent, so ask each one these same questions and compare the answers.
How do I tell if I have mice, rats or something else?
Name it, then locate it. Mice leave small, rice-sized droppings. Rats leave larger ones and may gnaw or leave greasy rub marks along walls. Scratching in the attic at night can point to rodents or other wildlife. Note where you hear or see signs, and when. Share those details in your request so the provider can come prepared with the right tools.
Can I prevent pests with simple home upkeep?
Yes, much of it is basic upkeep. Seal gaps around pipes and vents. Fix leaks and keep gutters clear. Store food in sealed containers and take out trash often. Trim plants back from the walls. Check stucco cracks and the crawl space vents too. Dry seasons push pests toward water, so check these spots before the weather shifts.
Does homeowners insurance cover pest damage?
Often it does not. Many policies exclude damage from termites, rodents and slow infestations, though some may cover sudden damage from a related event. Check your policy and ask your insurer directly. Providers can often help document damage with notes and photos if you need to file a claim. Keep every written report and receipt.
When is the right time of year to treat for pests?
Timing depends on the pest. Ants and roaches move indoors when the long dry stretch hits and they seek water. Rodents look for shelter once winter rain arrives. Termites can be active in warm months. Do not wait for a perfect season, though. If you see signs now, request an estimate and ask the provider about timing.
Do you offer bed bug treatment?
Imaginerunning Pest Control does not do the work. It refers you to independent providers in our network, and some of them handle bed bug treatment. Tell us what you found, such as bites, stains or live bugs, and where. Expect the provider to inspect first, then explain the plan, prep steps and any return visits in a written quote.
How does the referral process work, and is there any obligation?
It takes four steps. First, tell us the pest and where it is. Next, a local provider from our network contacts you. Then you compare a written quote. Finally, you decide. There is no obligation to hire anyone. The provider you choose does the work and sets the price, not Imaginerunning Pest Control. Request a callback if you prefer to talk it through.
